Decrosonic made a line of speakers “hidden” behind works of art. One advertisement called them “talking pictures”! These came out in 1959, just a year after the inroduction of stereo hi-fi. There are a number of ads from 1959 and 1960, and as far as I can tell, they weren’t sold beyond that. My guess is that they never really took off.
Only 60 years later, Soundwall (www.soundwall.com) has a line of art speakers.
The pictures I found showed more traditional art such as old European villages, portraits, etc. I love the retro-futuristic city scenes depicted in these! Hats off to you – RM.
